Many major insurance carriers cover 3D screening mammograms as a part of preventive care.

Get accurate and early detection of breast cancer

3D mammography generates a series of high resolution three-dimensional images of the breast. The machine captures multiple images from multiple angles as it moves around the breast in an arc. The images are then reconstructed into thin slices allowing the radiologist to examine breast tissue, layer by layer (like reading a book page by page).

This advanced technology enhances the ability to detect small tumors and provides a clearer view of overlapping breast structures leading to more accurate and early detection of breast cancer. 3D mammography represents a significant advancement in breast imaging, offering women a more effective and reliable method for breast health assessment.

I will not hesitate to return to Eve’s/MedX for any necessary imaging. I have been recommending them since my first appointment and have already scheduled my six-month follow-up visit.

Dr. Khan is very knowledgeable and thorough and her office staff are very nice. Prices are affordable and you don't get charged a facility fee like other big hospitals charge. Git an appointment fast and easy. I will definitely be going back for any future imaging needed. I highly recommend.

faq

What is the difference between a screening and diagnostic mammogram?
  1. A screening mammogram is an X-ray of the breast used to detect breast changes in women who have no symptoms and no abnormalities.
  2. Diagnostic mammograms are for women who need their mammograms reviewed immediately at the time of their appointment due to active problems or being followed for a finding on a previous imaging appointment. Your primary care provider and your radiologist will carefully determine which appointment is best suited for your current needs.
Why do I need a screening mammogram?
Breast cancer is one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers in women in the United States. Mammograms are x-ray pictures of the breasts that can help detect breast cancer early, when it is easier to treat and has a better chance of survival. There is no other cancer screening test in medicine as effective as mammography.
How long does a screening mammogram take?
An annual screening mammogram can take anywhere between 15-20 minutes total.
Do I still need a mammogram if I don't have any symptoms or family history of cancer?
Most women who develop breast cancer have no family history of breast cancer. The biggest risk factors are being female and increasing age. Because we have no control over the two biggest risk factors, it’s important to have your mammogram. It is even more important for women who are at higher risk because of a known family history or other factors to get yearly mammograms.
At what age can I begin having a mammogram?
It is recommended by leading health organizations that an annual screening begins at the age of 40. Your first baseline mammogram typically occurs between the age of 35-40 depending on genetic and personal risk factors or upon the advice of your physician.
How often should I have a screening mammogram?
It is recommended that women 40 and above receive a screening mammogram once per year along with monthly breast self examinations.
Can I have a mammogram if I have breast implants?
  1. Yes, current guidelines encourage women with breast implants to have regular annual screening mammograms. Getting a mammogram with implants is safe overall and is still considered the best preventative measure for breast cancer screening.
  2. When scheduling your mammogram it is crucial to let the facility know that you have breast implants.
Can I request a breast ultrasound instead of a screening mammogram?
  1. No, because a breast ultrasound cannot spot microcalcifications in the breast. Although calcifications are not always a sure sign of breast cancer, many early breast cancers are suspected because calcifications are seen.
  2. An ultrasound does not replace the need for a mammogram, but is often used to add important information. Breast ultrasound is considered screening if the patient and the physician have found no areas of concern.
  3. Mammogram remains the gold standard for breast cancer screening.
